NieYuan was born on March 17, 1978 in Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, with his ancestral home in Shandong. He’s a mainland Chinese film and television actor, who graduated from the undergraduate program of the Acting Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy in 2000. In 2001, he played the lead role in the period drama "Wrong Carriage, Right Groom" which became popular and he gained widespread attention as a result. With regards to his personal life, on September 28, 2008, he married his fellow junior Wang Hui and they held a grand wedding in Beijing. On April 15, 2012, his agent confirmed to the media that the two had already divorced. On May 8, 2014 at 11:35a.m., Nie Yuan's wife Qin Ziyue gave birth to a daughter nicknamed Tian Tian.
