: During the Republican era, the intellectual youth Wu Wei, accompanied by his girlfriend and close friends, embarked on a journey to the countryside for inspiration. They arrived at a remote town called Puppet Town, where, thanks to the arrangement of the town mayor, they easily settled into the Huang Family Mansion. The steward of the Huang Family Mansion appeared gloomy and led them on a tour of the house, except for one room on the third floor, which he strictly forbade them to enter. Intrigued, Wu Wei and his girlfriend ignored the steward's warning and discovered a long-hidden conspiracy in the town.
