Description

: During the reign of King Yeonsan of the Joseon Dynasty, two street clowns Jangsaeng (Kam Woo-sung) and Gong-gil (Lee Joon-gi) are reluctant to join the local entertainer troupe and travel to the capital Seoul to make a living. King Yeonsan (Jung Jin-young) is a tyrant obsessed with his concubine Jang Nok-su (Kang Sung-yeon) and ignorant of court affairs and people’s well-being. Jangsaeng and Gong-gil mock the king at their street performance and get themselves arrested. They’re given a chance to spare themselves if they can amuse the king. With one last joke, the king laughs and then makes them a part of his court. And Gong-gil is favored by the king due to his beautiful appearance. However, the court officials have something else in mind, which then results in slaughter. What will the future be like for the king and the clowns?
