: Everyone is a puppet. But many people can't see the thread that holds them. Twenty years ago, Ouyang Qiu, a famous psychologist, and his friend and colleague Ruan Haotian, went to Liming City to participate in a secret research project together. But an unknown change occured and Ouyang Qiu died in a strange fall. His friend Ruan Haotian also mysteriously disappeared into thin air. The research project was then called off. Twenty years later, Ouyang's son, Ouyang Yiming, has grown up and is working as a special agent in a special department called the "Homicide Investigation Department." One day, a bizarre murder case breaks out in Liming City, and Ouyang Yiming volunteers to go to the place where his father died to investigate the case. But when the case comes to light, the murderer were found to have committed suicide. Faced with many doubts, Ouyang Yiming decides to stay in Liming City to continue the investigation. Ouyang's stay seems to have activated Pandora's Box.
